Tilt the wheel all the way down to relieve tension.Then do the slide hammer.The pins are not threaded.

Im just gonna catch a Snap-On guy today and see if he will sell me the tool. I tried a slide hammer-like tool and those ****ers didn't budge.

O'Reilly or PepBoys has the pivot pin removal tool in their "help" section. It is the same one as Snap-On. It is a Performance Tool item. Did mine no hassels.
