stock boost cut off

I have been driving my truck for the last few days:tup: and have noticed when I hit 4000 rpm it acts like I ran out of gas and quickly drops to 2000 rpm and then it drives normal. It does this everytime I get to 4000 rpm and 15 pounds of boost. I have no factory boost control but am using a stock chip with a 2 bar map. Does the stock chip cut fuel at 15 pounds or do I have something else going on?

SOunds like ignition. What kinds of plugs are you running?

I have a fresh engine (200 miles) with NGK Ur5 gapped at .030 an MSD coil and stock distributor.

keep that up and you will be rebuilding it again!! do some reading the ecm is cutting the fuel.

what do you mean no factory boost control?were is the solenoid?

All the factory stuff is unplugged and gone. I have an external wastegate, manual boost controller. No electrical control at all

you need to keep the bost under 15 with a 2 bar map,and keep the factory boost solenoid plugged in

You are correct sir. I will stop driving it until I get A 3 bar chip installed. Thanks, I DO NOT want to build it again.
