I'm trying to find out if the stock Typhoon motor has any cast parts in side such as crank rods or pistons. I'm going to rebuild the motor in the near future so im also looking for some advise for a mild daily driver. So in short im looking for what to use and what not to use and who to contact to get what i need. I have an engine builder for my buick 3.8 turbo motor and he will most likely build the typhoon motor. The buick motor has cp pistons crower rods and a comp. roller cam. But i don't know a good build up for the typhoon so i'm looking for alot/good feed back.

Thank You

search button will own you. :D :D

Lots of info on the board via search. Not trying to put you off, just that info is as easy to search for as it is for me to type.

Look at what people ahve done, you will get an idea on what is changed..

pistons, caps, rods.... just to get you started....

you should also be able to find out why...

Cast Crank and Pistons. Go to forged pistons. Forged crank costs $2300-3000. and 6 Mos, so forget that. Stock Crank is OK.

Rods R supposedly forged, but they R garbage. A # of guys, including me, have thrown rods on stock engines w no racing. Not sure what Bozos GM got to build those POS rods. Go w Eaqles.

Thanks for the info on the crank & rods, that forged crank is a little to deep for my pockets. So I will stay with the stock crank any ideas on pistons. I love the build on my GN with the cp pistons but is there any pistons the the SY-TY guys favor JE,Crower. Please get back to me, I'm new to the typhoon so im trying to get all the info i can.

Thank You
