Stock turbo pull till 5500rpm?

hey im turbochargin my blazer and looking for manifolds/turbo- i like the idea of the stock turbo but i was wondering does it pull hard uptop or does it fall off- once i get a good valvetrain in i will be running 5500rpms- My main thing is a topend- i am spraying the truck right now and still have no topend- thanks

BTW if your selling a turbo or your manifolds let me know

The stock turbos are undersized for a 4.3 so once you are above 17PSI they are out of their efficiency range and generate more heat than horsepower.

Since you are goin custom your best bet would be to get the SyTy manifolds and an aftermarket turbo, like the PTE setup.

I agree with Jason 100% on that. You would be better off with Sy\Ty manifolds and getting a larger PTE setup. If you're really wanting top end go with a PTE 60 or bigger. Just depends on what your plan is.

Are you putting SyTy exhaust manifolds and a turbo on your stock CPI 4.3, or are you going to be adding the SyTy intake manifold, injectors, ECM, etc? The reason I ask is that you aren't going to get a whole hell of a lot of fuel out of your stock CPI setup. With your stock "high compression" motor, you're going to run give or take 8 lbs boost before you start knocking like a bastard and blow the thing apart. You don't have the bottom end, or the fueling to push the stock turbo to its inefficiency.....

well, on 02 and up (actually 98+ for the most part) they don't have CPI

you can use your stock intake manifold, fuel it using an FMU (like the supercharger kits) and run about 6-8 lbs.....

if you want to get all you can run an edelbrock 2114 manifold thats been tapped and had bungs welded for individual fuel injectors.

With a good tune though 6-8 lbs of psi is a drastic improvement over what we had....and our compression is fairly turbo friendly, stock bottom end on 8 lbs will hold up forever

thanks...I came here to buy manifolds and stuff and might have just found myself one hell of a deal....I'm planning on doing this to my 02 blazer 5 spd myself so I've been lurking for a while....figured I needed an account since parts came across and here I am....

its not a sy engine....its an 02 vortec engine, vortec heads (P/P bigger intake exhaust valves 1.6 rollers) and I'm bolting up the sy manifolds and xover...stock turbo, cai, basically as much stock stuff as I can use and custom do what I need to.....custom downpipe, and intercooler behind the grille....

the nv3500 isn't going to last, it doesn't like the spray I'm pushing now....even with the dual friction clutch...so after it blows modifying the block to run a t56...
