i'm not exactly sure on this one...
but i'm not one to trust anyone without the brain to look up correct spelling of the trucks name, SPECIFICLY a dealer...

17C, G wheels are identifiable visually, and they dont look like C series wheels

I don't know if their is a 17G, I think most people call it that because some of the popular DSM Mitsubishi turbo are 25g, 20g, 16G and 14G.

Im not positive but I believe there is infact a 17G wheel, just not what we have.

never heard of a 17G
allthe odd number mitsu turbos i have ever heard of were c's
13c(3k/S TT) 17c, etc
all the even numbers were always G's

Tuners is not exactly the greatest place in the world for accurately spelled and intelligent factual info.

TDO6-17C/8cm2 is all I have ever seen or read.
Had 2 of them rebuilt and one upgraded to a 20G-14cm.

I found out fellows what the b,c and G stand for.

Those are different "trim" wheels or different blade designs.

And I retract my previous stement, forgot the starions came with 12c and the early eclipse with 14b.

G is going to be a much more efficient blade, I am surprised no one throws an 18g on in place of a 17c and avoids all the hassles of a 20g.

I know this is an OLD thread but is it possible to just swap wheels like that? Has anyone done this yet? I have a stock turbo laying around and wouldnt mind doing that if its cheap and possible.

You can swap wheels but it needs to be rebalanced!

I know guys have swapped a compressor wheel without a rebalance but its a gamble.

Yeah I would just get it rebuilt. Stuff a fat one in there. It doesn't cost much more if any more than a stock build. Depending on who you go through of course.

edit: and I assume this is gonna be a td06 not a td05 right? Sorry im not up to speed on all the turbo stuff, and I really should be :oops:

I would go with Wallers 60-1 wheel in the 20g. If he is still doing it. I got the 20g with the bigger wheel in it but not that big. I paid $750 for it and it was pretty much brand new. To maintain a fairly stock appearing vehicle, this is the way to go. Thats not what I was looking for, I just didn't have the $ for all the big toys and all the crap that has to go with it you know? In the meantime, I have my truck running so well on this turbo I almost don't want to change it. But I do want to go 11's some day and I still haven't come close to maxing this turbo out.

If you don't have money, yes, it's VERY worth it.
