Im not gonna ask any one how to make my truck a sy/ty clone LOL.A clone is just a poser in my opinion.Even if someone puts a sy/ty engine etc. in there truck. In my opinion its still just a s-10.And no matter what they do its still not like a real one.I just wanted to know a little bit about your fuel injection system. What your intake looks like what kind of delivery it uses.I might look in to turbo charging my truck. So im curous how the intake on sy tys works.Im not familiar with your engines at all.I was informed they use a totaly different set up than all s-trucks.Pics would be great. thanks in advance

Intake is completely different, its a 2 piece design with an upper intake that the throttle body mounts to. The lower intake is drilled/cast for 6 separate injectors in each runner. No fuel at all in the UPPER INTAKE (well unless yer running alky ;) ) There is one fuel rail that feeds BOTH SIDES of the intake. Its completely different from any other S-series intake setup. If you decide to turbo charge a 4.3L make sure U have some sort of scan tool and someway of writing your own Chips. Otherwise I feel its a lesson in futility. You maybe able to change yer existing wiring over to a SyTy harness and run 6 separate injectors (strongly recommend) but then you'd have to deal with FUEL PUMPS, and Fuel Rails etc.... Do yerself a favor, start with a supercharger for the 4.3L, while not nearly as efficient as a turbo setup, its alot easier to bolt on and go than a turbo kit.

I thought about a whipple. As far as I know they are the only company that makes a SC that will work on a TBI motor. Not as much trouble because it can work on the tbi setup .I have a scantool but how would you burn your own chip.Ive heard of this but dont know what it consists of.It would be alot better to tune my pc to my tastes.

Do some searching around on this bbs. There is alot of information on chipping etc.. Problem is, it mostly applies to SyTy's, I am doubtful the same software would work for your TBI truck. I guess if it were me I'd look around on some S-series sites for that kinda stuff. Sorry man, most of the software referred here is SYTY specific, meaning no workie with TBI.

I too have a 93 TBI S-10. The intake stuff is totally different, but the engine itself is a regular old VIN-code Z LB4 engine with nodular iron main caps and a lower compression ratio.

http://invisibill.unimatrix01.org/sy/lmcintake.gif has some illustrations of some of the fueling and intake stuff, other than the actual intake pieces. You should be able to see the upper intake in quite a few engine pics around here. There should be some lower intake pics in the Vortec head posts, as they require work to match up...

I feel this topic is a good segue into an issue Ive been curious about for a while. The fuel injection for our engines is Multi-Port injection) ie. each port has its own injector. There is a distinction made between this and Sequential Multi-Port injection, where each injector on each port is fired right before the corresponding intake valve opens.

So, my question is, does this mean that for our engines, all injectors are fired at the same time, with some frequency dependent on engine rpm? Doesnt this seem like a bad idea? Can someone show me the injector driver schematic for SyTys?

Thanks.
