Syclone Spotted

I Spotted a GMC Syclone off the road parked on some ones property yesterday. Funny thing is I seen this truck 11 years ago before I was really even into them. I had some what of a idea what it was, but my interest had not peaked in 2004 when I drove by it all the time. (My interest peaked for the trucks in 2008-2011) So this truck has been in the same spot for 11 years ( sounds like the same story when I tried to get the other local truck that sat for 15+)

The truck was for sale.. they had it real close to the street.10 or 11 years ago :rotf: Yesterday I caught a little peak of it. Tried to stop by but didnt get a chance hopefully the next day or two I can see whats happening with it . I was in a rush at first but after I thought about it... It hasnt gone NO where from my understanding

Close to the peace valley park. New Britain area? I think they consider it.

Re: Syclone Spotted

Just pulled in not to long ago to see what I thought was the truck.

Luckily to my advantage, I was not mistaken. I drove by this truck everyday for a better part of 3 years. This was roughly 11 years ago.

The trucks paint is faded. No serious dents or cladding that is destroyed. Everything looks original. Even the tonneu top. Interior started to mold. Cladding is Gray. Red gmc emblems. Factory tail pipe. Polished wheels. Currently been off road for 5 years according to inspection stickers.

No one was around. I didn't want to hang out long because it is some one else's property, and i wouldnt put up for much of anyone probing around my truck my self so I left my name and number. Wating for a call.

Re: Syclone Spotted

Trucks like this really grind my gears. I've always carnauba waxed anything on a vehicle that has paint on it.Firewall, door jambs,a-arms,shocks,anything, because it keeps stuff looking new. Like 8 bux for a can that lasts 5 years.

One time I waxed the back of the cab on the inside of my Dad's bought new 1978 Toyota truck. It looked MINT when I was done.

I did wax the green primer on the bottom of my Typhoon as well.Maybe I'm OCD :dunno:

Yea. This is basically how I saw the first truck I was ever interested In. It was sun damaged as well because it was not upkept.

11 or so years ago the truck looked good. I do remember it. Being it's been sitting for 5 years currently something is up with it and there is more to the story.

Sly - did you work at a service station near Keystone Volvo in Doylestown? I remember talking to someone with a rough Syclone about 8 years ago at that location.

Re: Syclone Spotted

No. 8 years ago I was not arounnd. In roughly 2004 I drove by it on my way to high school. I ended up moving to a different town but remained in the same school. Took back roads curvy windey back roads lol

Like mention, I was not into them THEN... But had a idea of what it was. The original truck that was a stones throw away that I wanted years later... Had a big " TURBO" decal on the back window from the import magazine? So when I was 11-12 years old all I knew was they were turbo.

And Steve, I know the truck your talking about. I seen it across from that Volvo dealership for years inside a garage up on a lift. Since has left but I remember passing it all the time thinking maybe I can get that guy to sell it to me lol

Re: Syclone Spotted

This is like a REPLI-COPI story of the first tuck I was trying to get.

Owner called me and went over the truck. Has mods, (like I thought) and currently runs which is a plus!

I did explain to him I saw the truck for sale 11 years ago and he chuckled. Told me everyone wanted to joy ride and a bunch of tire kickers.

He also mention it has like 20-30 thousand miles. He didnt really know because "its been that long" He told me what he wants for it, so I might just go up with a knot of cash. :rotf:

Re: Syclone Spotted

Nothing really happened. Trucks still where it was parked.

I never went back because I am pretty busy lately. I have the owners number and can call him any time.

I'm going to eventually go back to talk to the owner in spring time about a month or so .

I know I don't need another syclone, but after I talk to owner again and find out a little more I'm going to see if my dad wants it.

I would be interested in it if you guys are not. More than happy to talk to the owner of it. Do you have any more pics or info on the truck?
