Not sure if anyone has seen this... I pulled it from a Trailblazer SS website.

Check with Callaway...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I live in CT and toured the Callaway factory recently for a SAE event. Callaway is known for their Corvette projects but I got a sneak peak of one of their lesser known projects while there:

A 6spd manual conversion for the 4WD Chevy Tahoe

This involded a completely new tail shaft casting for the 6 spd manual transmission to link it with the transfer case, use of an off the shelf bell housing and clutch, a pedal assembly from the silverado (I think), and integrating the shifter into the center consol. I asked if that system would work with my LS2 TBSS and they thought it would, except for the center consol pieces. I don't have the extra cash to try this out, but if some of you are really interested it might be worth your while to give Callaway a call and see what they can do for you. They like it when one of their engineering developments can get multiple uses...

Good luck

It will be interesting to see if this tailhousing will be available to the public.

Re: T-56

I realize this mod is not extremely popular here but it does come up from time to time. If Callaway has developed a new casting this would eliminate welding on the tail housing as others on the board have done. I thought the above info might generate a little discussion...guess not. :dunno:

SyTyless......for now!
Re: T-56

It's interesting for sure, but swapping over to a manual kills the principle of the boost launch for these trucks. Some do have manuals and they like them, but the majority are and will stick with the automatic for the launchability and drivability.
