Hey,

OK, speedo is working as well as other guages. It'sjust the oil pressure and tach that aren't working :-? I did the following:
-computer- all wires plugged in
-fuses- all are good
-fusable links- ok
-wiring harness- not kinked or jammed
-plugs are plugged in.

Yes, engine and turbo were out/ off of the truck. Any ideas? This is the last big thing I have to fix to drive this truck after over 1 year of buying it.

Thanks

race or get outta the way
cant tell you why. but if you had the motor apart i would be sure to pull distributor, put primingtool on oil pump, add oil pressure gauge at filter, and spin oil pump to verify you in fact do have oil pressure!

Unless of course you've run the engine plenty allready and your absolutely sure theres is pressure and no damage was done.

After that take the diagrams inthe service manual, get your meter and start tracing wires. Might take a while but your sure to find an answer.

checking continuity accross visible good fuses, connectors, you sometimes get surprised at what you find.

Did you have anything else apart? like the dash itself?

I had some gauges stop working, work intermittantly. After verifying the sensors were ok, I pulled the gauge cluster. I cleaned the contacts on the back of the cluster and the gauges. That fixed em. This could be your issue since it sat for so long.

OK,

oil pressure gauge had spun over so I removed the cluster and cleaned the contacts. Only the tach doesn't work.
Does anyone know the tach wiring inside the engine bay? Is 1 of the plugs off the coil for the tach?
I should look for:
-pinched wire harness (engine was out)
-loose connections on the computer
-anything elseI should look for?

Thanks everyone!
