Re: Tech Weasel

A little off-topic this time, but the SyTy crowd might be interested. I put up a bunch of pictures from the 2007 San Diego round of the Red Bull Air Race...

just wondering....are you dutch? huizenga really sounds dutch to me.

It's a Dutch name, but my family's been in the US for so many generations that we're not really in touch with that heritage.

As an aside, the Team Aruba Pro 5.0 guys used to give me a hard time (all in fun, of course) for having that name but speaking exactly none of the language.

A Timex is "just a watch". The one Michael was wearing was "just a watch that cost as much as my rebuilt long-block."

Hey Paul, The next time you see Michael tell him I said he wasted to much money on that watch, unless it was a gift.:rotf: :rotf: Instead of getting the watch I would have gone with the rebuilt long-block.

1. Did you finish the reporting on the streetracing event that involve a major accident in the San Diego area? You had pictures up and everything, the last thing I remember reading about it, was you plan on doing a follow-up on it when you call away to do other things.

2. Is your Syclone running now?

1. - If memory serves, I had three crash reconstructions up on SDDragRacing.com back before it went dark. Once I get through all the rebuild stuff, I'll start putting that back up.

2. - Today, I went to clear the ivy away from where it's parked. Cranked like a champ, oil pressure came up, but wouldn't start. I suspect the fuel pump is gesphincto, but my mechanical FP gauge is at work, so I couldn't check it today.

*sigh*

Well, at least we can still relive the glory days when I took the stock turbo housing from this...

Finally, another update is posted... In this one, I port-match the stock exhaust manifolds to the new heads.

Paul, how do you like working at Race Pages? I've considered a career in jounalism in the past, and race related journalism would be top on the list.

Of course, you're on the wrong side of the house over there. I'd have to go FSC ;)

It's the most rewarding, hardest job I've ever had. Turns out that doing TechWeasel was about the best training I could have given myself, too. If you're serious about writing, we're always looking for reliable freelancers...
