What happened to me and my Typhoon today pretty much sums up my luck. It has always been this way. So I drove the truck to work. It ran fine on the way in . No issues. At the end of the day I strut out to the truck and insert the key and turn the ignition to start the truck. Nothing!! no click no cranking nothing. After a few four letter words describing my battery I walk in the hospital to get the jump pack. Hook it up and nothing. After a few more four letter words about how nobody ever charges the jump pack I walk back into the hospital. L found the jumper cables and the key to the pick up and head back to the Ty. Hook it up and turn the key and nothing,but i notice the engine in the pick up would bog every time I tried to start the Ty. WTF!!. So I pull the keys and crawl as far as I can under the Ty to try and mess with the starter. I'm feeling around and notice something kinda moving around. I can't see anything I was just feeling. All of a sudden the Typhoon starts to turn over !! I have the keys in my hand!! I jumped up and ran to the back of the truck and disconnect the battery. I have a relocated battery. I had no idea what was going on. I crawled back under and feel something
moving around on the posts of the starter. I manage to free up the item. Shaking my head and talking through my teeth I turn the key and the truck started right up.
I recently replaced my head gaskets and the builder used Fel Pro drop in exhaust gaskets. One had fallen and found its way to the starter and rested on the posts. At first it was grounding out everytimr=e I keyed the ignition. Then aftr banging it must have shifted and made a connection between the starting post and Possitive. Thats why it was cranking without the key. What a the chances? Pretty good if your me!! FML.
