Throttle body rebuild, or new spring or .......

i think this may be a simple question. on the syty TB, i have a return spring, but the TB linkage has a wound spring on the shaft.........it has come loose and now i have to "blip" the throttle when i get to a stop or the truck will rev too high.

is it possible to take the linkage off and rewind (sp) to get it back to being tensioned?

ps its a stock TB on a forward facing Renz intake with an a2a.

IIRC that linkage is friction welded, tacked, or pressed together. If you get it apart you would probably have to tack it back together... Its been a while so I could be way wrong.. I remember wanting to take mine apart to paint it and finally giving up and just taping all the aluminum off so that I could paint the metal bracket..

I have one completely apart and it neededbto be ground. The stuff doesn't go back together.

So are you guys thinking the easiest thing is to take it off and bring it to a tb/carb/alternator rebuild shop? Just to rewind the spring?
