my ty is detonating i took it in an they set the timing but it still at about 30 degrees advanced when at idle and checked with a timing light. I went back and he said how he set the timing at 0 degrees. i was wondering if this is my problem(the way the timing was set) or do i have something else wrong. the motor was just rebuilt and i put new plugs wires, cap and rotor on and it still runs like crap. any help would be appreciated.

hahahahaha

dude, you have to unplug the ECM control over the timing to check it.
otherwise your just seeing the amount of timing the ECM is adding to your 0 setting.

there is a wire under the passenger side carpet, right under the dash, with a small plastic connector. unplug it, and then check your timing. i think its a tan wire..... or is it grey. damn i forget.
