Today I love my Ty...

On the neverending roller coaster ride of love and hate today I love my Ty :rotf:

I had rebuilt my turbo a couple weeks ago and just got RPM's drain line today (very nice piece). Got everything back together and wouldn't ya know it? NO LEAKS :rotf:

Still a little smoke but I'm assuming there is plenty of oil that had leaked prior that needs to be burned off so I'm not going to get too excited about that just yet.

Few more little things to wrap up and #1606 will be back terrorizing the streets :tup:

BTW if you have a cat on there it could be a little plugged with goo. depending how much oil has passed through it.

No cat just a muffler...the smoke was coming from where the turbo bolts to the manifold. Pretty significant at first but almost disappeared after it ran for about 10 minutes. I'm going to attempt to take it to work tomorrow so that should be a pretty good test. Any reason I should be worried??

It seems everyone with a sy/ty has a love hate relationship with them! I know I certainly do, it can be the greatest truck day and the biggest hunk of sh*t the next. Lol it always seems you get one thing figured out and another arises! Hope yours was a simple fix and it stays that way. :tup:

Well I drove it about 25min to work this morning and no issues (fingers crossed, knock on wood, pray :rotf:) Turbo rebuild appears to have worked as it's dry as a bone!! I kinda babied it but everytime I got into a little boost...MAN O MAN :tup: I feel like a little kid right now!!

HUGE thanks to everyone on this board and the FANTASTIC information that's here. I know this is said a lot but this is by far one of the BEST forum's on the net :tup:

Same here. Drove mine last Thursday...no problems. Love it!

Took it out Sunday and it stumbled a few times, then wouldn't build boost past 7-8 pounds or speed at WOT. :rant: I suspect fuel pump and am investigating. Hate it!!

See what happens when you drive it more than once a week?! :cool:
