hey guys, as soome of you know I just bought my first Typhoon last week... iv only put about 40 miles on her so far... It seems to drive pretty good for 106k miles, but idles a little rough... if Im stoped at stoplight or even in park, you can watch the RMPs shake a little and can even feel it.... my wife was in car last night for first time and of course she is used to her brand new bmw and she was laughing at my typhoon saying its gonna die.... its not really bad enough to die, but seems just a tad rough.... is that normal or do I need to do a tune up (plugs, fuel filter, etc)

any suggestions

They idle rough stock. Thats how they pass emission test.
Do a tune up anyway.

Like the colour comb.

definatly do a tune up. ac (cr42ts) plugs. i used ngk ur5"s whitch work great. i recomend using talor wires, very good quality wires for the price.get a nice cap and rotor. you can go to www.detroitturbo.com if u cant find the parts. also i changed my fpr to a ajustable and that really helped out my rough idle. also check all of your vacume lines for cracks. it will make a diferance if there new and not cracked and worn. just replace them if there not done alread, its easy and cheap

Ditto on the color,I was thinking of looking for a Ty in this color. On your tune up Try NGK Iridium plugs Part # UR6IX 7348. To help with the Idle try a MSD 6A Part # 6200, use it with a stock coil because if you use it with the MSD coil the spark is so hot you'll burn holes in your Dist cap in 1 month time.

There's not much to mess up. You're just replacing lines.

No one sells a kit.

Ian used to sell them, but by the time you figure all this out, you could have been done with it. All the kit is going to likely be is properly sized hose that are cut to the length you need, maybe a few check valves, which you allready have and likely work fine (suck and blow in them to check...yaya i know).....just print out a copy of the diagram, go out and look at the size hosing you need...guess how much you need and go buy it...come back, and do one at a time follwoing the diagram and you can't get lost. Simple as that.

If you go to Auto Zone you can get a vacumm kit in red, blue or yellow and it has three sizes. Just make sure you change the hoses out one at a time.

Run a can of GM TEC or Seafoam through your motor too. Do this right before you change the oil and plugs.
