True Number of SyTys left

Is there anyway to see how many are actually left?

In 1991 a total of 2995 Syclones built, how many are left?
In 1992 a total of 2400 (?) Typhoons were built, how many are left?
In 1993 a total of 2200 Typhoons were built, how many are left?

Thanx,
Rob

No. There are guesses but no way of doing a Dr Xavier on the trucks and connecting with them all and finding out their status. Sportmachines.com has the most complete registry but even that has some gaps and outdated information. I think a conservative estimate is about half are in existence and half of those are running. (My guess on the second part). There are a lot of people that don't come on this forum so we have no way of tracking the vehicles unless I am missing something.

I'd say a conservative estimate is 30% to 50% of them are still alive but Quickstop said it right, half of those are probably not running. Just looking at the sample of our members I'd say half of us have running examples and the other half of us are always "one weekend away from it running."

Hey, some numbers from swe. I don't have numbers for the Sy's in Sweden only the Ty's. There are a total of 54 Ty's in Sweden.
28 of Them are of year1992 and 26 is the1993 ones.

there is a project in the works that "might" eventually get us to a close estimate, but there are no exact numbers, only guesses.

I think the correct topic should be "How many of these piles worth having are left"

I dont think we will every get accurate numbers of survivors. The only acurate number we will ever have is the trucks that are dead. As people report totaled, scrapped, stolen, and parted out trucks, we will beable to cross it off the list

I know its a long shot, but I would think if running each available VIN for each year could give you an idea which ones are salvage, junked, crushed...etc. Granted that only gives the status of their title, but its a starting point.

Now how to run reports on 6000+ trucks isnt something thats easy I am sure

If someone has the access and the time to carfax all the vin#'s for the 91 syclone and 92 and 93 typhoon this would be a great start. If I had access I would do it. Then we could get a good list going to see which ones are salvaged or junk and the ones that are still in the road or at least no junked. Then make a list with the last 4 numbers saying the status of the truck.

Mines rebuilt title and that's questionable because it's nice and running great!
Salvaged title in past due to stolen.
