Hey guys, where is the best place to get my truck tuned in at... Its a 91 Ty with a book of modds, it had a Pit bull chip in it but i dont know how to tune it, nore do i have the time. i bought the truck built like this from a guy who was having it worked at, at the local gmc dealer and ran outta money. so i dont really know much about the modds as of where they were instaled, or if they are still even there!, but the truck is located in Adrian MI, about 45 min. from toledo OH. any one live close or know of anywhere that i could get this thing done. and done right i dont want some greese ball that knows nuthing but "Does know what them truck was back in the the day"..... any help would be great, as of how the truck runs 0-60 is a screem, but after that it seems like nuthing and for the modds on it it should be Moving. it boost a 19lbs on a cold night. haha so..help me out guys

Re: Tuning shop

Ok, first off if you have a 91 Ty, your lucky, since they only made a couple of them. Second, the guy who had it before you wouldn't have been having any mods done at the dealership because the stealership doesn't do mods to these trucks. So I'm thinking you pretty much have a stock truck with a pitbull chip. I would find out more info from "this guy" and figure out what "he" has done to the truck. As far as getting it tuned, find some other SyTy owner in your area and see if they can look at it. Dont trust dealerships and MOST shops. The only people that really know these trucks are the owners. Just my opinion.

Re: Tuning shop

Okay, well its a 92, Sorry Typo..... but i didnt say the truck was being modded by the dealer ship, he was having a problem, and took it to the dealer ship and the dealer ship must not of knew what the hell they were doin and started throwing parts at it, They charged him for a New fuel pump, Fuel Lines, Inj. Cleaning, and Fuel Filter. He didnt have the money to pay for all that stuff to get done so the truck got put behind there gate and thats when we bought it from him. there is alot more done to this truck then just a pitbull chip. as of finding out more from "this guy" its impossible. he took off shortly after we bought the truck. Ive found the org. owner its "attackdog" from this site. He knew his shit and the truck was VERY nice. but when the middle man got it, it went to hell and got hacked up by some back yard mechanics. Im just trying to find somewhere to take this truck to have it done. i dont live in MI anymore and the truck is in storage there. im only home on weekends and i dont feel like messing with it the hole time im there. i would much reather just have the work done. Somone also said something about Phil Long. can somone tell me more about him?? it?? what ever it is??? I dont know anything about these Trucks or much related to them..... i know Crotch Rocketts... not typhoons.......

You got the wrong truck if you don't ever want to work on it. Sell it to me ;)
Everytime I drive mine i find something else that needs to be done. It never ends.

Re: Tuning shop

where are you located so people can tell you?

I can tell you right now, the chip is a 2 bar reading only 14.7psi, so 19psi the computer isn't seeing it. You are overboosting.

Re: Tuning shop

SonomaGTlover- well haha i guess i put that wrong, I do work on it and stuff but in better terms i dont have the time to do like a week project on it. 1 week for a normal person could be 2-3 weeks for me. But as of anything eles i have a Hoist and everythign eles to do stuff that will take me a cuple hours or a day to do.

SeattleSy#1255- I figured it was overboosting but once again am at loss with these trucks, not knowing much about the tuning of one. Im located in Adrian MI, about 45 min from Toledo OH.

Besides local guys, probably McCoy Motorsports.

best thing to do is learn yourself and tell you dad to learn as well...you, knowing nothing, probably already knows more than the dealership or any other shop. It isn't like an LS1 that you can take anywhere to have worked on. Teach yourself, even if you don't know to change your oil, it is the only way IMO...unless you have big bucks and are willing to travel.

Re: Tuning shop

what do you need help with? best thing to do is learn and teach yourself....at least about the basic problems/things with these trucks.
