Turbo burning oil?

Can a bad turbo burn oil? I'm losing quite a bit of oil in a short amount of time, and I'm not sure where the oil is going. There are no external leaks, and I have brand new valve stem seals and valve guides. Compression check turned out fine. There is no blue smoke on start-up. There is no blue smoke on acceleration or deceleration. Sometimes if I rev the motor up, I get an oily substance coming out of the tailpipe.

I'm using TRW forged aluminum pistons. Any ideas?

yes..... its possible for the seals to be bad in the turbo... Haven't seen alot of complaints about this but our trucks are getting older.. If you mash the throttle and there is the tell tale smoke then I would say thats possible but only believe it if you have ruled everything else out first
