Turbo problem?

Okay, I was replacing the vac. lines on the turbo, had the orange 90 off. I was checking the shaft play in the turbo and noticed it had some play, I could wiggle it a little. Is this bad? It was enough that I could hear it move. I have noticed no ill effects turbo wise, as far as I can tell, it builds up fine, and doesnt sound funny. The shaft may have always been like this, this is actually the first time I've checked it :banghead: .

Note: I am a turboginner (new word,...maybe)

it's normal to have "some" play, but it's really hard to describe how much is too much. obviously if the comp wheel contacts anything or it makes any metallic noises then it's too much. but with these trucks getting older and older and as the avg milage increases play is goin to become an issue for more and more of us.

Upon closer inspection, I found something good, If there was enough play, the blades would contact the housing and it would marr the metal surface, there are no such marks present 8) . Guess I worried myself again.

Thanks
