turbo whine?

Ok ther is no problem with my TY. But as with every other turbocharged I have ever been in I could hear the turbo whine. But in my TY with 164,000 on the clock the turbo is quiet. I cannot hear a thing. I know the turbo works I get 15 lbs out of the turbo anytime I want. But no whine? Any input will help Thanks

Do you have the stock type paper filter in the air box? If so then drop in a K&N filter. Makes the whistle a little louder.

Put a turbo on there with a bigger compressor housing and it REALLY gets loud..

Actually its probably good that you don't hear it. Usually a turbo gets louder as it goes bad and a turbo that is wll balanced with good bearings is quieter.

I have a K&N on already. I am thinking the same thing,I think that the previous owner put a new turbo on.Thanks for the replies

I put a "Weapon R" cone filter on the end of the intake tube, and the intake noise is on the verge of annoying. You can hear it whistle nicely.

That, combined with the louvers and removal of my hood pad combined to make a nice turbo whine where it was barely audible before.

with a in box K&N and deleted mufflers, i can't even here the turbo with the hood up!
