I have a stock 1993 4.3L TBI S10 std. cab shortbed. What would be involved in putting in a turbo? If I got a syclone intake and exhaust manifold, would it just be a bolt-on project? I would have to rebuild the engine, right, to handle the boost? What about driveshaft and rear end? What do I have to replace. I am not talking about a complete clone or anything, JUST TURBO. Any help is appreciated.

Truckless. For now.
Try the search feature. it's not the easiest thing to use, we all admit, but it does work. This has been covered many many times.

If you really want to turbo your truck, try Mach Performance they sell bolt on turbo kits, and it would be a heck of a lot easier than trying to make your 4.3 into a SyTy type of 4.3.

Just in case you were wondering, a new set of SyTy exhuast manifolds run ~$1,000.00. Plus you'd need the intake, ECM and wiring harness, lower your engine's compression, rebuild your transmission, etc. etc.

Go to Mach's website is my best suggestion.

rebuild the engine to suit the turbo. And rebuild with forged internals. That way if you feel you need to go faster you don't need to do another rebuild.

Your drivetrain might hold up to the increased power from the turbo. Are you going AWD or keeping 2WD?
