OK, some of the other S-series boards are organizing the annual Texas S-Series meet we have in Austin, its just a one day deal, where we usualy meet somehwere and eat lunch in Austin and them go to a local park for the afternoon and just hang out and show our rides, its not a formal car show and no awards are given, but just show them to each other and bench race talk shit you know how it is. We had this last year at Walnut Creek park in austin and even had a few SyTy's come out, but the day was very bad and rainy and just a general nasty day to be outside, better to be inside snuggled up to the ole lady in bed.

Anyways so far were looking to have it on the same weekend, which is the fourth saturday of March the 25th 2006. Im not sure where were goin to meet for lunch just yet, but that will be added later.


Ill be there in my Ty, and it would sure be nice to have some more SyTy's show up and show off there pride and joy.


Where: Walnut Creek Park Austin Tx
When: Saturday March 26th, 2006
Time: Meet for lunch at 11am(lacation still to be determined)

Ok, heres the latest. we will be meeting at the Walnut Creek Park around 11am-on and will be uskng the grills at the park to gril some burgers and dogs or whatever you like, basically bring your own grub for the afternoon/lunch and we will just be grilling and haging out and checking out each others trucks, and so on.

Then once it gets dark we will leave the park convoy style and setup camp at a local establisment were we will eat dinner and then after that everyone pretty much heads backs home. Or if you need to leave sooner you can.

Were still debating on where to eat dinner at Hooters has my vote, they have a petty big parking lot that shouold fit everyone ok, and make for some good photo opps.

There will be me in my Ty and another HASTE member in his Sonoma GT and it would be awesome of we could get sokme more SyTy's out there, i know there is alot of you guys in the Auston Area, and you dont have to hang all night with us, even if its only for a few hours, come by and let us take a look at your trucks and take a few pics.

Hope to see a huge turn out of SyTy's.

But hopfully it will be not so ugly by the time this comes around.:tup:


And if you want to roll out with the rest of us in Houston we meet at the academy at 290 & 1960 at 8am and roll out around 8:30 am convoy style all the way to Austin, and usally get to the park right around 11am or alittle after if we hit some taffic. Also we use FRS/GPRS radios so if you have one bring it along and there is aways a laugh or two on the radio.

Hooters doesn't usually like people with show vehicles in the evening. They are not able to hold up the front area from folks parkin at night. I was able to get them to let us set up with reserved parking for lunch only. Let me know what you want to do.

We can still go they just won't be able to save the parking lot for eveyone.........

Well we wont be trying to organize any kind of show, and we usually try and park in the back, that way we can all pretty much line the trucks up for a big group shot.

But where we eat dinner is still up in the air, Some want to go to Rudys BBQ, but if were griiling burgers and dogs for lunch i dont want BBQ for dinner also, and that is how some of the others feel also.

Last year we went to Chuys a mexican place and it was dam good.

As i know more ill post it.

Catfish Parlor is across from BoneDaddy's and it has a nice parking lot for us to park in. In Cedar Park we usually go to Wataburger on FM 1431 especially on Saturdays. Let me know and I will set up a hang out no problem. I can even get us a group discount if we pick the right place.

OK, so...
Who: YOU, and a bunch of other s-series enthusiasts
What: Gathering at a park for chillin', grillin' (grills in the park), snackin' and BSin'. Dinner later.
When: 11am till whenever. March Saturday 25th
Where: Walnut Creek Metro Park - 12138 N Lamar Blvd, Austin TX (same park as last year)
Why: Peer pressure.
Later: we will be heading to a restaurant for dinner... looking like probably a hooters. We will post an exact location later. Not sure if we will nail down a time, or leave it as "when we leave the park".

Directions
from san antonio:

I35 north. pass through austin. take the parmer lane exit. take a left at the light (go over the overpass). take a left onto lamar. go through the 1st light on lamar. take a right into the first entrance after a church.

from dallas:

I35 south. take parmer lane exit. veer right onto parmer lane from access road. take a left onto lamar. go through the 1st light on lamar. take a right into the first entrance after a church.

from houston:

take 290 to austin. when you hit I35, go north. take parmer lane exit. veer right onto parmer lane from access road. take a left onto lamar. go through the 1st light on lamar. take a right into the first entrance after a church.

once you turn into the park head down the park road until you see a lot of trucks in a big parking lot.

I should be down for this meet! Re: later activities, BoneDaddy's may not be that crowded on a Sat. night, & I could probably get the outdoor set of tables reserved. The restaurant next door (formerly Zios) went out of business & so their parking lot normally has a good amount of open spaces. Just a thought...

BTW Jim, I think I've just missed you at the Home Depot meet a few times. People have come up to me the last few times saying that another Syclone just pulled out. Had to be you since I think I know all the other SyTy guys in town.

For some reason that always happens. A couple of mustangs wanted a beating so I had to take the clone out of sleeper mode!

You can count me in for now. I'll be able to commit as the date nears. Impossible to know if I'll be in country this far out. If I can resolve my brake issue by then, we'll take both Tys.
