Re: ty #0302 thread

Neil came by for a little while and gave some good words to me. Found out im only at 36psi fuel on idle and should be at 42. A good adjustable regulator will be first to go on but if that doesn't cure the issue a good walbro pump will be installed. Anyone have a preference on which regulator I should go with? And a big +1 to Neil for making a ride out with me and lending a hand.

It's 38-43 psi with the hose off. When you put the hose back on, the pressure will drop a few psi. If you're at 36 with the hose on, it's fine.

The real way to determine whether fuel pressure is correct is to monitor long term fuel trim, in closed loop. If it's 128 +/- a few counts, the fuel pressure is fine. If the BLM runs consistently above 128 by more than 5-7-ish, then increasing the fuel pressure will bring the counts down. If you're within a few counts of 128 most of the time in closed loop, leave the fuel pressure alone.

Thanks dave and please bare with me on this noob question, but what exactly are you referring to when you say hose off? We just put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail where the schrader valve is. it went up to 36, we bled the air off and it stayed around 36 or so but fluttered around a good bit. shouldn't it be a constant pressure? and also what is closed loop you refer to? im still simple minded if its not a carburetor or a diesel injector pump im not very savvy on it just yet lol btw again sorry for the noob post

Dave is referring to vacuum hose connector which should be on AFPR.
