Well this started about a month ago I knew my drivers side body mount was rusty but never really knew how bad,(also if your door sags after you replace the pins your body mount is probably shot)so I decided to lift up all the carpet and take a look. Well in doing that I found alot more rust ALOT more basically parts of the floor had gapping holes, my carpet padding smelled really bad so I just threw all my carpet away and just decided to go all out and fix all the rust. I ordered all my patch panels from lmc truck and bought a cheapo harbor freight welder, I’ve never welded anything before in my life, and was a little hesitant at first but practiced for a while and got the hang of it pretty good. Anyways heres some pics, I don’t have any before pics b/c I was just really angry and wanted to get this fixed as soon as possible and the last thing on my mind was to take pictures, so heres some pics after all the patch panels were welded in. I painted everything with automotive rust bullet, I have always used por-15 in the past but rust bullet seems to have better reviews and between the two it’s definitely a little stronger. After that I sprayed it with some sound deadening, then put down sheets of sound deadening material. Tomorrow I should be all done just have to put the carpet back in and all the interior. I also found a total of $2.64 in change, a very old roll of electrical tape, empty container of skoal with a very old wrapper design, and a wrapper from pizzahut that was def from the early 90s under the carpet. The skoal was behind a interior panel, I was thinking it may of been there from the factory lol.
