Well this started about a month ago I knew my drivers side body mount was rusty but never really knew how bad,(also if your door sags after you replace the pins your body mount is probably shot)so I decided to lift up all the carpet and take a look. Well in doing that I found alot more rust ALOT more basically parts of the floor had gapping holes, my carpet padding smelled really bad so I just threw all my carpet away and just decided to go all out and fix all the rust. I ordered all my patch panels from lmc truck and bought a cheapo harbor freight welder, I’ve never welded anything before in my life, and was a little hesitant at first but practiced for a while and got the hang of it pretty good. Anyways heres some pics, I don’t have any before pics b/c I was just really angry and wanted to get this fixed as soon as possible and the last thing on my mind was to take pictures, so heres some pics after all the patch panels were welded in. I painted everything with automotive rust bullet, I have always used por-15 in the past but rust bullet seems to have better reviews and between the two it’s definitely a little stronger. After that I sprayed it with some sound deadening, then put down sheets of sound deadening material. Tomorrow I should be all done just have to put the carpet back in and all the interior. I also found a total of $2.64 in change, a very old roll of electrical tape, empty container of skoal with a very old wrapper design, and a wrapper from pizzahut that was def from the early 90s under the carpet. The skoal was behind a interior panel, I was thinking it may of been there from the factory lol.

In the last pic you can see a paint diffrence on the pillar b/c it used to look like this

I fixed it myself it looks ok but not the greatest, im just gonna get it touched up with a few other things someday but for now theres no rust eating holes in anymore metal.

Nice job

but did you do away with your heater core? because I noticed you have the port on the lower manifold blocked off?

Damn how much rust was there?

There was a decent amount, most wasnt rusted all the way through but the metal was so thin, I had to cut it out anyway.

Looks GREAT ! Man, that rust bubble on the pillar got ugly ! The last time I saw this truck when Jeremy still had it, it was about the size of an aspirin. You know what they say, rust never sleeps

. I hope the yahoos that have been "selling" your ty on ebay don't get their hands on these pics too...

So it wasnt that bad at one point  ? I think from the drivers side mount being bad it put alot of stress on the welds and the paint cracked and let it rust away. And as for ebay I no longer have a cardomain and I think thats where they like to troll around so hopefully ill be ok lol.

And thanks for the compliments guys :D
