I drove to run a couple of errands and the truck was running fine. I got into the truck to drive home after I finished my errands. But my truck wouldn't start. So I popped the hood and started looking around. Nothing seemed to be wrong with it. So I got back into the truck and tried it again. Didn't start..... Long story short. Finally go it started after pulling plugs and checking for spark. Buying a new Ignition Control Module and installing that. The plugs though had gas on them. Which was odd. But they were still sparking. The truck was idling fine for a few minutes then just died. Just like I turned the key off. Then tried to start it again. Nothing the truck won't start. So I waited a day read up on some other similar problems that other guys were having with these trucks. Thought I had an idea of how to fix it. Then went out to see if it would start today. Today it fired right up and was idling smooth. But the exhaust was white, not white like steam but white like a train. I went to smell the exhaust it smelled heavily of gas. Turned the truck off and checked the fuel pressure. It was idling at about 40 psi steady with the vacuum hose on. Turned the truck off and un hooked the vacuum line then the idle was not steady and in fact was jumping between 45-50 psi. Turned the truck off and re hooked the vacuum line up and then it was jumping around again with the hose hooked up. It was jumping between 40-50 psi. So I'm really confused. I'm thinking an electrical short or something along those lines. Not sure though. So I'm looking for some advise.
The truck is not stock. It has a scan master 3, Egr delete, aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, 42 pound injectors and Turbo Tweak Chip. Thats the easy stuff. Forged rods and pistons, vortec heads and the compression is raised to about 10/1. Still running on pump gas.
