Typhoon car cover...

My typhoon is in my garage. I have children running around my house. The combination scares me. So I have decided to find a car cover that can protect my truck from accidental mishap.
What would you guys suggest?

I'd go with cover craft all the way. They have a nice amount of padding while still breathable. I personally have the evolution series and its been good for me.

I've ordered from numerous companies over the years. JC Whitney, California Car Covers, etc. I think they all use the same patterns, or even have the same shop make them, and resell them. There IS a Typhoon-specific pattern. It has extra girth and length to cover the cladding and length for the bumpers. There is also a with rack, and no-rack pattern.

Big Sky is my favorite. I liked the price and no sales tax on my last order. I just went out and looked at my Typhoon WITH rack cover. The pattern is #14343. My guess is the pattern # remains the same, regardless of which material you select.

As far as protection, and the need for "padding". A cover by itself is sometimes not enough. For my Corvette I put Harbor Freight furniture pads under the cover. But then the cover was too tight. My last Corvette cover was expanded in every dimension by 5% on a special order with BigSky. Another option.

Good info! Thanks. I have a Jimmy with typhoon from bumper cover and no roof rack. I'm sure the Ty one with mirror pockets would be fine.

I have a coverking stormproof on my TA. Love the cover, fits amazing and has the ability to repel rain and other elements. I usually bring it with me to car shows and such just in case it rains. Coverkings can be bought from at a lot of the online places - don't buy direct, way to expensive.

I'm going to get another one for the Ty.

My dad has three California Car Covers for his stuff. They even had a pattern for his 46 GMC pickup which was amazing. Their covers are top notch as well, fit very well (not has curve hugging as the Coverking) but very well. They can also do custom tweaks for you too. Not sure if they make an exterior one like the stormproof but they have a ton of options.

I've found stylintrucks has them the cheapest, plus they send me coupon codes sometimes.

PFYC doesn't sell parts for the Syty trucks but that is where I bought my Regal and TA covers from. They have the best description for the different types made by coverking though. Here's the link for that

My TA cover is bright yellow (like the car) and the Regal is black, just a cool touch that doesn't cost anything. A good idea too I've found is to get a logo on the front (cost like $20 bucks). As dumb as it sounds, when you throw the cover on it makes it way easier to find the front/rear.
