Typhoon steering wheel swap for a Syclone

Can anyone help me out with this? I looked back through the past year's posts to see if anyone had already asked about this but I didn't find anything. I got my Ty steering wheel and am trying to pull off the swap but I'm running into a problem getting all of the Syclone mounting brackets off of the column. It looks to me like the fingers on the Syclone mount are integrated into the Typhoon's base so I dont need them. But I don't know how to get them off. Is there some secret to this without breaking them off? :dunno:

I've had the wheel off a '91 S-Blazer (identical to a Sy wheel) and my Typhoon. I cannot recall any differences in the mounting, switchgear, etc. Can you be more precise in your description?

Re: Typhoon steering wheel swap for a Syclone

Ok, when you take the horn button off of the Syclone wheel there are 6 torx screws that have to be removed. After these are removed, the wheel pulls off exposing 6 metal "fingers" that the torx screws go into. Those fingers are tack welded or riveted to the base ring that fits over the stud in the middle of the steering column. On the back of the Ty wheel, the base ring is integrated into the back of the wheel. Everything that's left on the column from the Syclone is just in the way and that's what I need know how to get rid of. I would put a pic up but I can't. I can email you a pic easier.
