Typhoon Stutter

Finally got registered. Been trying for about a month. Ok so I have a 1992 Ty. Had it for a while. Was running it stock until I blew the motor. So basically the current build is mostly stock (In other words lacking). The motor I had rebuilt forged rods and pistons. I had the compressions raised a little bit, I wanted less turbo lag. I was shooting for about 9.3/1, ended up with 10.02/1. I still have the stock turbo. Also have some nice flowing vortec heads. So other than that the truck is stock. I have a Garret stage 2 turbo literally laying in the garage. Not sure if I want to mess with that right now though. Not even sure with the higher compression I could spool that turbo. Anyways the truck runs amazing even low boost. The extreme lack of turbo lag is awesome. I have a turbo tweak chip in it and a 3 bar map sensor. Tuned for the higher compression and to run pump gas right now. I also have the chip tuned for alky. Going to get alky as soon as I can. But for now need the truck to run smooth without alky. I would like the truck to run hard on pump gas too, but that is kind of a lot to ask on pump gas. Im currently making about 18 pounds of boost. Only got to 18 pounds once and the stuttering was not happy with me. I'm going to turn the boost down. Ok so now the problem part. The truck used to stutter around 12-13 pounds of boost and about 3300 rpm. So I did some research and found that the plug gaps helped someone in the past. So I did that re gapped them to about .028. Re gapping the plugs helped a quite a bit. Most of the stutter was solved for but the stutter is still there. But the stutter is still being a pain around 15-17 pounds of boost about 4000 rpm it starts again. I haven't ran the truck into 4k rpm very much. So I'm not sure where to look now? Im thinking the fuel pressure could be where to look.

-Thanks in advance, "Rambo" :rotf:

Re: Typhoon Stutter

With a 10.0:1 CR, you are not going to be able to run that much boost on pump gas. I would start off with 9 psi and slowly raise the boost while monitoring a scan tool. I would guess that you are going to get into the 11-12psi range.
