Upgrading Starter Motor?

I am pulling my engine this summer and would like to replace the factory starter. Many years ago I solved the purple wire issue with a ford solenoid, but I was hoping to go for something a little more elegant.

Any opinions on a good starter motor replacement for these trucks? Something where I won't need the external solenoid, a little more heat resistant, a little smaller, a little more torque?
