Re: Vacuum/Boost Gauge

Thanks for the info. I would just buy the parts from the link you provided, but my '99 is not quite the same as the SyTy. On the intake side of the connection, my '99 has a connector that appears to be basically the same thing as what's on the brake booster. I wrote those guys to ask if they have any suggestions, or I will just get a big tee connector.
Although my first issue is where or how to get through the firewall. It seems like that's going to be more of an issue than actually connecting the gauges. Ugh.
With a couple of 3/8"npt x (booster hose size) hose barbs, a 3/8" tee, and a 3/8" npt x 1/4" hose barb you could make an in-line fitting. Might not be the prettiest thing, but you could put it anywhere along the hose, and rotate it to point in the direction you need.
There should be several places to get through the firewall, at least one near the brake booster. If your mounting it in the pillar, take the stock cover off and go "fishing" (ie get a semi-stiff, dull piece of whatever, and start poking . Probably easier from the inside out, look for it to come out under the cowl in the area of the hood hinge. Not sure how much (if any) different, but I was suprised at how easy it was to "thread" wires through there on my '97. Good luck.
Edit (after actually looking at the pics), just make your own fitting, and cover it with some flex loom. No need to reinvent the wheel, and messing with those plastic fittings would likely be a huge pita.
