valve lash

I have always hot lashed my cars. It seems my lash is always perfect when I do a hot lash, engine running.

On the Typhoon's, how do you disconnect the intercooler? I was hoping to be able to move the intercooler out of hte way, still connected to the coolant system. My typhoon has the upgraded intercooler hoses.

If you poke around under the IC you'll find 3 bolts. Those and the turbo & throttle body hoses and you can set it aside. Assuming you've got "radiator hoses" instead of the the original steel water lines lines going to the rear of the IC. Otherwise you may have to drain the IC and disconnect the water lines.

However the SyTy has hyd lifters that are preset at the factory so unless you're experiencing an issue of some kind, or your engine has been modified, you shouldn't have to fool with them. They're commonly set cold BTW.

The person whom I purchased the typhoon from had the engine rebuilt 1500 miles ago. I definatley hear valve train noise as if a valve or two need to be lashed.

Then you've got an issue, since the hydraulic lifters should be taking up the slack. IIRC, the process is to set the cam on the base circle for the valve you're working on, then tighten the lash 1/8-1/4 turn past where you can rotate the pushrod with your fingertips without resistance. I'm sure somebody else here can confirm, or fix it if I got it wrong.
