I have a vibration at all times. Park, neutral, driving. Occurs at all RPM but around 2k it shakes the dash. I have some unknowns with this engine since I bought it already built as an abandoned project so I'm thinking maybe I messed up. Before I put in the work I thought I'd ask here. It's an early 90's balance shaft engine. 4 bolt mains, h beam rods, SRP pistons, mild cam. In a 2wd on 2.8l engine mounts.
I bought it without a flex plate. Not knowing for sure I bought an internally balanced flex plate. The crank counterweights were drilled so I assumed it had been internally balanced. Now I'm thinking maybe that was wrong. Or maybe it's a harmonic balanced issue but this seems pretty severe for that.
Any suggestions before I pull the trans as a guess are appreciated.
