We can make videos on how to compleatly ignore family and freinds, and avoid doing all responabilities just to play under the hood of a hunk of metal that is more tempermental than the hulk on its period.

Great point, the requirement for before and after timeslips/datalogs has been dropped. :)

How about someone make a video about some newly invented talking jack stands that they bought.

In the beginning the jack stands would offer tips, like hey buddy why don't you use the deep socket on that.

Then after time goes on they turn on you and say, wtf man this thing is heavy and I need a break. Why don't you bring that one guy back over that knew what he was doing so we can get this piece on the road?

Or, this isn't what I wanted my life as a jackstand to be like, you jackhole. :p

Great idea Garry, and I don't want to deter you if you've already made some arrangements :rotf: but the before and after timeslip rule has been removed.

That being said, I think you should still make the video.

Yes, this is good too if you acted it out with some people playing the family and friends.

Maybe you could be this completely delusional character that buys things like $200 detail kits and other things and you walk into the garage and your truck is just completely dismantled and years from seeing any detailing. Then come to find out your wife or girlfriend has been secretly selling off your parts on ebay for like 1/10 of what they are worth.

No, they can be any type of mod, and doesn't need to be entirely DIY.

As for the date, it will be a good idea to submit videos early because votes can accumulate at +5 per day/user and the sooner you post one the soon you will start accumulating points.

So I'd suggest not waiting until you have the entire project in one video, but rather make a series of videos that eventually all become part of a whole project.

There is no limit to the number of videos you can submit for this either and whoever ends up with the most points wins.

So start uploading any modification videos you have already. As long as the video shows some type of DIY, could be tuning or whatever, just not random videos of a race.

If you have parts or anything that are just sitting in the garage, you could start with a short 30 sec or so video explaining the modification, the part, the expected outcome, etc.

I appreciate it. I am anxious to see what types of video people want to create because there could be one that shows how to do a tune-up, with the proper tools and ways needed to access the plugs. All the other endless tricks that a new owner might find useful, and a way for the community to have some cool content to watch as well.

If anyone is in the middle of an engine rebuild, or trans for that matter it would be great to see videos of that type.

Its actually quite fun to start creating video, especially if you aren't too picky and just want to upload something fast like a 2-3min clip. Its the longer ones that are full blown step-by-step that can take some considerable time invested.

how about built in jack stands all you would need is a air pump from the rear of a ty or one from an escalade and then you would never have to worry about finding a good spot on the truck or even a jack just flip a switch and let them jack up your truck to the desired level. they do this on off road race trucks sometimes and even make ones that are manual but im lazy, switch, up, done.
