Vortec Intake Manifold

The injector system on it, reminds me of fresh air supply for a fish tank.

Basically it is garabage for performance.

let alone what plastic woudl do with boost and some heat.

What kind of injector system is it? Are there not regular injectors there and a fuel rail?

It has 1 big goofy looking squarish box, with tubing running to each cylinder. All buried inside intake itself.

Injector is like $450 for a new one.

Have a friend that has this setup on a 4.3 in toyota truck. Works good for a low power reliable car, but not a perfomance intake by any means.

I think thats CPI(Center Port Injection) you are thinking of.. GM used it 93-95. With CPI there is 1 injector and 6 nozzles.. I though that GM moved away from that in 96 as the injector was prone to failure.. I am fairly confident that this intake acutally has 6 real injectors in it...

guess I was wrong... I can't believe GM still uses that crappy CPI setup...
