Vortec intake welding ?

I have searched and did not find what i am looking for. I am having my intake welded for vortec heads i have some pics of them done. What i am looking for is how much welding needs to be done 1/4 inch 1/2 ? just want it done right the first time. I have felpro gaskets 1203 and it looks like 1/4 or a 1/2 inch should do it. yup. bout 1/4in is all u need. but after it's welded it has to be surfaced then ported to match. thats if your only goin to try and match the stock ports.

if your goin all out. you need to weld around the inj bungs and up all sides of the intake runners. if you try and port for max perf all that area is too thin.
