W2A Part 3

Well for those of you following my progress.. I came across some changes that I wanted to make to the IC that I originally made from scratch. Long story short... with timing, etc. I started creating some issues with the other IC, leaks, etc. Had I had to do it over with I would have had someone, or me, TIG weld it from the start instead of migging it.

So I decided to send the CAD drawings, with my changes to Spearco and have them make one for me. Here is the end result... I just received it today and it was so pretty I thought I would post a few pics.

Once I am over this cold, this was all I waiting for to put the truck back on the road.

I will post some more on my site once I finally get around to updating it.

That looks good for sure, Nick. Would be nice to see some pictures when mounted too.

May I ask what Spearco charged you for this?

I have a digital temp gage for it as well as a pressure gage I am installing. I will of course take good data with the FAST and put the results up about the temps.

Spearco made this to my CAD drawings. The total cost was right at $1200.

It is hard to see how large it is from the pictures... but the core is 9" wide by 4.5" thick and 10.125" long.

The core is large enough to support 1500 HP by their estimations. And they say less than 1 psi drop across it at the pressure and flow that I will be running.

I am pretty excited about it.

I will let you know once it is in.

Thanks for the info Nick... And update us when you have progress with it. BTW I belive you are a pioneer in this area, I've not seen anyone using a similar setup in SyTy's yet.

I have not seen anyone with something like this in particular.. not where I am mounting it, etc.

Weaver's truck has a pretty good size water to air on it.

My goals were pretty simple.

1. Keep the truck Streetable
2. Keep the truck AWD
3. Keep the truck with A/C
4. Keep the driveability of the overdrive tranny
5. Run Radials

Other than that.. I want to break the AWD Typhoon record... I have not seen one that meets the AWD that runs in the tens... we will see what I can do.

A ton of work and a TON of money... we will see what it gets me soon enough.

That's a close race. Ryan is there too to be the first. I guess Nolan's Ty could do it as well. Anyway, good luck!

I see there are a few out there that have the potential.

We will see.. I am not saying that mine will... just we will have to see what it will do.

I don't want it to be one of those where it runs it once on 30 psi and 100 horse Nitrous shot.. I want something more consistent... I am looking with the large IC to be able to get away with a little less boost and still run good.. try to make the tranny survive and the rest of the drivetrain.

I know what you mean 8) 10s in low boost Thats what im going to try.
Now for the tranny thang.....i got a second extreme 700r4 in the garage......

I am not worried about my tranny now.. I have a stock one in there now for break in.. I have the Stage IV Hartman kit with Torrington Bearings... that should hold whatever I throw at it.
