Rats! I have a fresh 8181 single. I'll never use it. You could have had it for shipping-only to get it out of my living room.

If you end up junk yarding, the most likely place to find L35 heads in in Astro/Safari vans. All 1992-up have L35 engines.

Is it the same head just different casting ##? If it will work I will take it

This is to add to what Dave told you. This post have lots of 4.3 info. Scroll down to cylinder heads. It looks to me like if you went by the dates you can see were the changes were made.
