Wanted: S10 engine wire harness

I got the few pigtails that I needed from a junkyard. I just went out and cut them off. I never had to cut my factory harness.

Re: Wanted: S10 engine wire harness

How about for the 700r4 trans and the A/C?

I used a neg trigger output from the HP to lock up the TC by splicing into the ALDL connector, almost like using a paper clip to ground the TC lockup for drag racing. I did a write up on how to wire the DRAC into an input on the HP to be able to read speed, which is needed for TC lockup control via the HP.

The A/C is hot wired from the low pressure switch directly to the compressor. This bypasses the factory computer control over the A/C (acceleration, etc.). After advice from DaveP, it was determined that the voltage output from the low pressure switch was sufficient to activate the A/C clutch without any harm. All of the factory controls still work as intended.

Little more detail on this:

The factory computer relies on certain inputs to control the TC lockup. TPS, and speed mostly. When the Holley is installed, the factory computer no longer has a TPS signal or speed, so the TC lockup does not work at all. I spliced into the drac with an input into the Holley to allow it to read speed. The TPS reading is already built into the Holley. The way I control the TC was to use one of the outputs from the Holley to ground out the TC via the ALDL connector. Once you have speed inputs (using one of the Holley inputs via the DRAC), and TPS input (via the Holley, inherently), the TC lockup is easy to control.

The A/C also relies on factory inputs from the stock computer to work (it will shut off over a certain TPS %, I believe). I bypassed this by hot wiring the low pressure switch straight to the compressor. The factory controls on the dash do not pass through the stock computer, so every thing works as it should.

I am not an expert, but I hope this help.

FYI, if you go the S10 route, you want the '92-'93 years for the same A/C connector as your Ty.
