This is to pass my experience to all SyTy owners who are going to buy new Welbro Fuel Pump. I had good experience with these pumps from Auto Performance Engineering with the exception of one pump that failed in less than 6 months which was sent back to APE for a replacement (which I did not yet receive). The owner is great and he is very helpful from my own experience as I purchased about 4 pumps from him and I always receive the pump without any delays.
However, I recently purchased new pump FPG003 (high pressure with GM kit) and the mechanic replaced the dying one with the new one, connected everything and placed the fuel tank back to discover that the pump does not work. Upon investigation it appeared that the newly supplied power wire (black and red wires) had the ends connected wrongly when compared with the original wiring (negative becomes positive) and the pump does not work but if you use your old wires, it will work immediately. So the messege is to check the new wire and compare it with the one already there with your existing pump first. I will e-mail APE so that they check that aspect with their supplier.
