Water hose issue

I have a 93 Ty. This is the second time this has happened. When I get on my ty from dead stop I have been cutting my upper water hose with the
alternator bladed. Am I crazy or what? Could it be the motor mounts or am I getting the wrong size hose? The motor mounts don't seem to be bad but I really don't know how to check them, to see if they really are.
Last week I cut the hose and I was not close to home I had duct tape in the truck and had to tape the hell out of the hose to keep it from shooting every where until I got to a auto parts store, which was a blessing I was looking for a gas station.

I would guess motor mounts.

If memory serves me correctly - someone said they got a hose that didn't have a bend where ours was sposed to bend. I don't remember who that was.......................

Sliced upper hose & grenading the upper fan shroud are good indicators of a bad drivers side mount.

Yup, motor mount is toast :( . Either get a set of new ones, get a tie down to keep the motor from moving or stop boosting... Probably don't wanna do the last one I'm guessing ;) . The easiest way to determine if the motors mounts are gone is to rev the motor with the hood open while viewing the motor movement under the open hood. Put it on drive while holding the brake and rev it. Do the same in reverse. If it torques over a lot, that's your problem. HTH's

That would be me. On the way to the Nats. Bend put it close enough to the alternator that if the engine moves at all it gets cut. I put the 10 yr old stocker back on and hauled ass. Still on there too :D
