OK, replaced the EGR. No help. Here is a link to a datamaster file of the engine idling.

I'm no expert here but if I look at the 02 mv they're all over the map. Is this normal at idle? Appreciate the help.

One weird thing I noticed is when you reved it the injector duty cycle went up to 114 for a fraction of a second, im not really sure but that could be your issue.

That wasn't much of rev either. In other word I didn't "floor" the throttle, maybe just gave it a god push. Up to 1/2 and back would be a good guess. Like I said, I have another set of inj's so I'm gonna send those out. It'll be interesting to hear what the re-builder has to say.

Hey Don I was going to post about the EGR, but you aready tested it. Did you check the EGR Solenoid as a plugged vent filter could cause the EGR valve to remain open or close slowly? I did notice that you list the fuel press at 40 lb. Was this with stock injectors? All the infor that I have said to start out at 45-50 lbs when using the Ultimate chip if using the stock injectors. Mine runs best at 47 lbs. How old is your O2 sensor?

As I said above this doesn't seem to be a fuel pressure issue. Inj's are stock. I will check the EGR vent. However I can watch the EGR work and it seems to be quick. The O2 is orig AFAIK and I haven't been able to get it out. I've only been able to heat the DP with a small propane torch which didn't help.

On my O2 sensor I had to cut the wire to it and use a 1/2" drive 7/8 deep inpact socket to remove it after it bent my O2 sensor socket when I used a 1/2"drive breaker bar on it with a hose clamp at the base to keep it from spreading. If you have to go to this extreme like I did make sure you soak it down with liquid wrench for a day. How many miles do you have on your truck? When you do replace the O2 sensor make sure to get a good one.

Yikes! My o2 sensor plan is to not replace it until I do the 3" DP.:rotf: Truck has 63k on it. If it comes to that I think I'll use some real heat.

Inj's are shipped. That will take a week total so I'll see what next weekend brings, if I get them that fast.

x2. I actualy had to take it to a shop because my impact was not stroung enough to remove it.

I cut the wire and used a deep socket on a breaker bar. I heated the pipe around the sensor untill it was cherry red with a propane torch. At first it only moved about a 1/4 turn. I heated it again and got a little more. while it was still really hot i hit it with penetrating oil. Heated it again and it finally came out. When I installed the new one, the truck ran so much better it made the whole job worth it. Many types of octane boosters and any type of LEADED fuel, ie race fuel, will damage the sensor and cause the truck to run poorly.

Don you can try heating it up and then applied some candle wax from a birthday candle to the area around the threads. The heat will draw the wax in and may make it easier to remove the O2 sensor.

The secret to get an O2 sensor off is to use a half inch impact gun.Bump it a few times.
Get a good O2 removal tool, not the socket type.
The other type that has the 1/2 drive off center, like a crowfoot.

The tool I had was borrowed crow-foot type, 3/8 drive and I didn't want to damage it. Will be getting a 1/2 drive version.

Question still stands. At idle, should I be getting a reading like that? To me, it seems, it should be more even.

BTW Since I still throwing parts at this thing :rant: do you recommend the OE o2 sensor or the Bosch?

I would go with the Bosch. That what I have in mine and if I recall correctly the OE one I removed was a Bosch. At an Idle after 20 min warm up, in the driveway non driving. My O2 readings were:

o2 (mv) 117-867 at 725-750 rpm. This was with my fuel pressure turn down to 34 lbs for a smog test that I had to get done on the truck. The other readings you can look at here.
