Just got back from Tire Factory with new tires!! Sumitomo HTR+ all seasons. sold the 20's and threw the stockers back on.
old tires were very weirdly worn down. the outside of the passenger side was eaten, the insides and drivers tires were perfect, but all 4 were cracking pretty bad.
I changed the fuel filter outside in the dark at 7:30pm.. Mann I have to work on my time management skills...
Drivers side, in frame rail. You'll see the fuel lines. It's about 4" long x 1 1/2".
Tried for the millionth time to get the purple wire on the AC blower nice and tight. This after it cut out again in the boiling hot sun! I still don't think I got it.Would hate to cut it and put a regular terminal but I might have to if it cuts out again.
I think I have a spare relay I could try. One thread said it might actually be the AC switch. I looked at the top speed control pigtail of the switch and found no sign of wear/heat, but I couldn't pull it out far enough to look at the main vertical switches pigtail.
What happens is after like 40min+ driving with AC on in hot weather it'll just stop blowing. I could turn it off and on again fast and it'll run for a couple sec's and stop again. I could turn it off...wait a while...then turn it on and it'll run for longer before stopping again. So I'm thinking something it getting too hot, maybe the motor since this stupid terminal isn't easy to plug properly and could be causing it to draw hard through little contact. The rubber around the terminal shows signs of melting/heat. I could crimp a new terminal and be done with it, but what if the prob is the switch or the motor? I kind of like the look of the OEM terminal and how the rubber grabs the motor end.
The blower is an aftermarket Seimens (sp?) made in Mexico POS I got from PepBoys. It's not hard to replace so I might do that in the near future just for the sake of it not blowing hard as OEM. I'm sure I'll figure it out or DaveP will figure it out.
