Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Last night i decided to start my Walbro fuel pump, new sending unit and racetronics fuel pump wiring kit install. Some pictures below to show you the fun it was to get the tank down. Planning on going to home depot today to get four new bolts and nuts for the tank straps. The old ones are NOT going back in. :rant:As you can see the rear bumper needed to come off!!:(

I have the same red straps as you so I can be color coordinated when I tie down stuff in the bed, haha!

Re: What did you do to your SY/TY today?

Why did you take the bumper off?

As for me (little delay)

Fixed headlight switch issue (sort of, the rod is bent, have to get back in there again later)
heli coiled a trans mount bolt, need to do another.
Installed a PCV setup
Removed the blade of death POS so I can jack the car up (with alarming regularity)
Installed the TPI airfoil in the TB
Installed two nozzles for the alky kit
Pumped up the tyres :D (Mike did that for me)

I put together two 2x4 pieces of wood with a strap connectted to my jack. When i had the tank on the jack i tied it down just in case it splilled. I have about 3/4 of gas in the tank. Trust me i didnt plan to have that much gas but it just worked out like that.

While at shindig after the first auto-x run, the truck was pinging bad. I bumped up fuel pressure (without a gauge), did the I/C jump and added Octane Booster FTW! My times dropped 4 seconds since I was able to get into boost some.

In prep for Shindig since last Monday, I (or my mechanic... when I didn't have the time) did the following:

Installed Turbotime front coilovers (WOW!!!!!)
Installed 3" drop blocks (and promptly blew out the passenger rear shock FTL)
Installed ZQ8 box, new tie rods, edelbrock sleeves, new pitman and idler arm
Fixed broken driver side window motor
Installed dynamat in the doors
Installed Typhoon mirrors (no more dumbo's!)
Fixed sticking wastegate
Installed AFPR
Cleaned K&N panel filter
Alignment
Polished and waxed...
Tried some meguiar's exterior trim detailer for the cladding (the new stuff is CRAP compared to the aerosol they no longer produce!)

I've got the rear QA1's on order along with 2" blocks (3" are too much) and a rear sway bar. Then the suspension is done for now.

Here's a pic of the side without the busted @$$ shock. The other side was about 2" lower, looked like a lowrider and bounced like one too.

Here's the auto-x vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y15i0984irY

Not much body roll compared to stock. Once I put in rear shocks and a rear sway bar, I expect much of the remaining body roll will disappear.

Wow you took it all apart. I did the wiring harness & the pump without pulling the tank or taking the bumper off. just lean the tank on it side & do all the work so much easier.
