Whats up guys? I was wondering what gaskets I need to buy for when I get my vortecs back. John waller told me to run the felpro #1292, for the head gasket. What about the intake and exhaust sides? Do I just use the stock factory gaskets from the vortecs for these two? If not, anyone have some part #'s?? thanks in advance,

nick

1292 is the # he said for the intake gasket, but recently he said that they did not work out well so he is going to be using (assuming slightly modified) '96-up vortec intake gaskets. The head gasket is 1002 if you are standard bore and 1032 for .030 over. There are no gaskets for the exhaust side just make sure the machined surfaces are flat. I am just buying the intake gaskets from John, he can probably get the head gaskets also but I got them from Summit for $40 a piece. Good luck and feel free to email me with any questions since I believe we are doing the exact same thing currently but it seems I am ahead of you just waiting on the intake and injectors.

thanks for the reply ! Maybe i will just go down to the dealer and order all the gaskets, and see what i can do to the intake side to make it fit good.
BTW: what cam are you going to run??

peace,

Comp Cam 412 its probably the same one you got or you have the 422. I would get the head gaskets from fel-pro instead of a dealer but that is just me. The fel-pros have a metal o-ring around the cylinders to help with sealing and I bet they are cheaper. Good luck
