I see alot of action in this subject, so i wanted to see what the numbers are for people planning to go the route of getting a 4L80e or sticking with the stock 700r4, or who already have done the swap and are they happy with the change.

Whats the advantage to the 4L80e? If a stock tranny will handle all the beeting the i'll stay stock if not i'll call George!!

4l80e for me when the 700 blows unless there's a strong influx of the 6l80e on the market by then, which as little as i get to drive the ty that's very possible

Unless your on a under $1k budget that is.

I'm gonna stick with the stocker whenever it does happen to go out. (I dont forsee it doing it soon though.) I mean with guys we have building the trans for us on here, I feel safe running a rebuild stocker from them up until any ET "I" think I might be able to push in the next 5 years.

Yah Yah Search Search If I really cared I would search, like I ALWAYS do, but since I dont need a tranny its not that big of a deal for me to do a search. I just thought I would ask real quick since where on the subject, its not like a made a whole new thread that asked whats the difference???????? Come on give me a little slack!!!!

I just spent an hour looking through threads, OK the 4L80e is stronger, not a direct replacement, and more money. If I have to buy a tranny this what I would get so I never have to worry about it again. Question is what vehicals did these come in from the factory?

There needs to be another POLL OPTION for the 700 guys.

I'm guessing that of the trucks that get beat on, 90% that heve 700's in them right now have 700's for this reason.

Just an opinion, not a fact...:eyes:

6L80e for me, by the time I'm ready to do it. Working on getting some cores together.
