Whats the best S10 to swap the sy/ty guts into?

Ok. So I'm sitting here with 75% of my typhoon left in good shape, a paid off loan, and an itch for some more awd launches.

I'm thinking about buying a cheap doner truck to swap my syty guts into (all of the most important parts are still good, ECU, motor, I/C, Manifolds, Trans, Transfer case, ECT) only the radiator, Turbo, and some other shit I don't need really got dammaged,

So whats the best s truck to swap into? I'm thinking the 4x4 is the same frame up front as us, where the 2wd's are different. Does it matter if you get the 4 banger or the v-6, defintatly want to find a non AC truck, anything else to look for?

I Plan to start off with cleaning up the truck, fixing major **** ups, putting in the turbo 4.3 power plant (maybe a cheap build with the vortec heads I have sitting around), then down the road swap in AWD, some cladding, add my wheels ect. Do the 4x4's have the same offsets as the Sy/ty? I've got a set of firebird 5 spokes sitting here that I never even got the chance to put on the ty.

If it were going to be a daily, I would stuff it all into an extended cab Extreme & be done with it. I Don't think I wan't to go that route though, I think I just want to build a track slut. No ac, no PS, no bs, just go. If thats the case, really don't need the extra weight or space of an extended cab.

I want a truck this time, so no bravada or blazer.

super-gt: Pretty much a Dodge Ram 2500 "happend" to my typhoon. It was a tottal loss, but I bought it back. Not worth trying to fix the frame, roof, all the other messed up shit. If you search the lounge, theres a thread started by me a little while back all about it.

a certian member of the board has offered his Sy with a blown motor up for sale to me. Thats exactly what I wanted, but not sure if it makes sense to drive 2500 miles each way to pick up the truck. Other than that, there don't seem to be too many sy's with blown motors up for sale, hence why I was looking at s10's. I found one for sale localy that still runs for 900$ thats less than the cost of gas driving 5000 miles in the tahoe with a trailer & sy in tow.

i have access to a yellow & green typhoon. One without a motor and one with a blown motor. Both trucks are in Rockford, IL and in very great shape

Thank you for the offer, but I do not want a Typhoon this time. I'm focusing more on the all out performance aspect of it, and don't need the weight. Plus in 18 months of owning the ty, I had people ride in the back of it all of 2-3 times.
