Does anyone know where I can find the Charge Air Cooler Heat Exchanger (GM # 15637840). I met someone through the GM dealer who is looking for one as his was stolen and GM had discountined the item. I am not sure if it is the same part but I went to GM Direct and Dal but they confirmed that the unit is discountined already since 2000. I am not sure if the part or the unit is what I am looking for, but it is the aluminum tank that is connected to the throttle body from one end and to the turbo from another end. Does anyone have a spare one that he would like to sell it. What will happen if this guy started driving without that unit??? What can he do if he could not find one? Can it be fabricated? Any schematic available anywhere?.
I told this guy that the best source is the SyTy to get any information regarding a second hand one or a better after market one. Having said that I checked out the Conley's Big Boy and that cost $900 which is too expensive to consider or is this a normal price for such or similar unit to the factory one????
