Which direction to mount the crossover?

Which direction does the stock crossover pipe mount?
There's a bolt in the front, does it point down or up? In
my test mock-ups so far it seems like it could go either
way? I notice one side of the crossover is longer than
the other, maybe that gives me an indication of which
way it should be mounted?

If you mount the manifolds to the heads, then the crossover pipe will only fit on one way - hard to see with them off.

I think you have correct. My passenger side crossover has the piece the slide over in the middle. My crossover flange bolt sticks up. I am pretty sure mine came that way from the factory.

I do have the manifolds bolted to the heads right now.
Trying to find out which way the crossover mounts so
I can get my o2 bung in the right place. It seems like
it will fit either way when I roughly hold it up. Maybe I
will try it again and look a little more carefully...

One side is longer than the other, if that helps at all?

Re: Which direction to mount the crossover?

On mine the "long" side went on the pas side. What this seems to do is leave room for turbo and trans lines to get past.

o2 bung? Not in the crossover anyway.

as i look at it i think you are right, the crossover sits flush with the rest of the truck. not uneven. the long side needs to go to the passenger side look at the shape of the manifolds.

Thanks for the info, I will check that out.

The turbo is going on my S10. It needs o2 bungs added.
