Re: which heater core...

The aluminum one looks more like the stock one, if I remember correctly. I'm talking with the length of the piping that comes out of the thing.

After that, I don't think it would matter between the two... possibly the copper core has shorter leads on it because the AC box is so much larger with the a/c evaporator on it? I'm not sure.

Yes I know the pipe sizes are the same but different lengths and the material is different... Brass one is non a/c which my truck will be soon enough.... Just material wise I wonder what is better?

Most people use the one on the right, I dont agree. You should use the one with the shorter pipes and replace your rubber hoses with longer ones. I feel that the heare cores fail because of the longer pipes. Kinda like the whole physics thing and a longer lever, breaker bar, pipe on the end of a wrench ect...

Copper conducts heat faster than Aluminum. But its heavier. Is it really solid Copper? or Steel coated w Copper?

Re: which heater core...

Use the copper/coated one!!!!

AC or non AC the parts stores list them as interchangeable. The "copper" ones are def better quality, the tubes being shorter helps minimize cracks and breakage as already mentioned, and is easier to install and it will fit like factory. The retaining straps and clips will fit perfect. The aluminized ones don't fit like OEM are a pain to get just right and close everything up as it was originally. We actually have 20 of copper ones in stock to ensure we don't have to fight the aluminized ones. And we have seen no difference in the performance in the heating or cooling system using either one.
