Dropped the truck off at the tranny shop today.

told em to flush lines, they got a machine for this.

also told em to replace trasnfer case chain and inspect clutch while they are at it.

anyone know what the chain and replacing it is worth?

Gonna be hard to inspect the viscous coupler, as it is a sealed unit.

I even took one, chucked it up on a lathe, cut it, and still didnt' get it apart. finally gave up. I just wanted to see what was inside anyways.

Chain is a simple replacement though.

thanks

any idea what a chain costs and what its worth puttin in. dont include labor to remove from the truck since it will allready be out.

Thinking out loud here....cant be more than 2-3 hour labor time if its allready out.

IMO I would just do it right this time and have the whole thing rebuilt. With the 10 PSI launches you are doing.....it probably only a matter of time before the coupler lets go.

just my 2 cents
